Wheat Muffins

Mix and sift the dry ingredients, add gradually milk, egg

From 1914:

Two cups of flour
Two tablespoons sugar
Four teaspoons baking powder
Two tablespoons butter
One cup of milk
One-half teaspoon salt
One egg

Mix and sift the dry ingredients, add gradually milk, egg well beaten, and melted butter.
Bake in buttered gem pans twenty-five minutes.
