TASTY APPLE TART

From 1922:

Half-fill a dish with nicely-stewed apples; cover with breadcrumbs, sugar, and desiccated cocoanut in the proportion of one cupful of breadcrumbs to three-quarters of a cupful of cocoanut and a quarter cupful of sugar. Moisten with some of the apple juice, and spread a little butter on top. Bake to a golden brown in a moderate oven.
