Mix and sift 2 cups self-raising flour

Mix and sift 2 cups self-raising flour, 2 teaspoonfuls sugar, 1 teaspoonful salt, 4 teaspoonfuls baking powder. With the tips of fingers rub into dry ingredients 2 tablespoonfuls butter. Beat 2 eggs until thick and light. Add gradually 7 tablespoonfuls thin cream while beating constantly, add to first mixture gradually. Turn on a well floured board, knead slightly, pat and roll to half-inch in thickness, cut in triangles measuring 2 ½ inches from point to point. Brush over tops with a slightly-beaten egg, sprinkle with sugar, and bake on a tin sheet 15 minutes in a hot oven.
