From 1922:
Soak 4 tablespoonfuls of sago in a cupful of milk all night. Next day melt 1 large tablespoonful butter, stir it in the sago; also mix in 1 egg, 1 cupful breadcrumbs, 1 cupful sultanas, sugar to taste, 1 teaspoonful carbonate soda. Stir all well together, pour the mixture into a well-buttered mould, and steam three hours.
