Steamed Bread Pudding

Take 2 large cupfuls of breadcrumbs, 1 handful of flour, 1 tablespoonful sugar, pinch salt, 1 tablespoonful butter, 1 tablespoonful treacle, 2 tablespoonfuls jam (any kind), 1 egg, ½ small cupful of milk, small ½ teaspoonful soda dissolved in milk. Steam 2 to 3 hours. Serve with custard.
