Sour Milk Griddle Cakes

Two and a half cups flour, half a teaspoon

From 1911:

Two and a half cups flour, half a teaspoon salt, one and a quarter teaspoons soda, two cups sour milk and one egg.
Mode of preparing: Mix and sift dry Ingredients; then add sour milk and the egg well beaten; drop by teaspoons on a hot, greased griddle; cook on one side.
When puffed full of bubbles and cooked on edges, turn and cook on other side; serve with butter and maple sirup.
