Snowballs

Cream butter and sugar; add milk

From 1911:

One-quarter of a cup of butter
¾ of a cup of sugar
2 cups of flour
½ cup of milk
the whites of 2 eggs
2 level teaspoonfuls of baking powder

Cream butter and sugar; add milk, flour and baking powder; finally, the whites of 2 eggs beaten stiff.
Steam in buttered cups for three-quarters of an hour.
Serve with strawberries or any crushed fruit.
