RAISIN PIE FOR HOLIDAYS

It’s not too rich

A pie rich enough to match the plum pudding is raisin pie, but made according to the following recipe. It’s not too rich to follow the great dish of the Christmas season.

One cup of seeded raisins, chopped not too fine. Add 1 cup of boiling water. Mix thoroughly and add a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of butter, a dash of cinnamon and 2 even tablespoons of fine bread or cracker crumbs.
Turn the mixture into pan lined with-rich crust, cover with top crust and bake golden brown.
