Chop four good sized onions fine and put with them enough browned bread crumbs to fill the fowl. Season highly with salt, pepper, thyme, sage, parsley, and celery seed, and moisten the whole with warm water. Do not make it too wet. Finely chopped celery may be used as a substitute for the onions by those who do not like the flavor of the latter.
