Soak 2 tablespoonfuls of oatmeal in 2 breakfastcupfuls of milk or water for about half an hour. Stir up and strain. Pour into an enamelled pan, add a little salt and simmer till of a proper consistency for about ten minutes, stirring well, sweeten to taste. Also a grating of nutmeg and a tiny piece of butter may be added. It ls delightful.
