NUT AND ENGLISH CHEESE SANDWICHES

Chop English walnuts fine; put with them an equal quantity of grated English cheese; moisten with thick cream or butter to a consistency which will spread, season to taste, and spread on thin slices of bread or of crisply toasted and buttered toast. If the latter, serve hot.
