Neapolitan Pudding

From 1922:

Put 1 Swiss roll on a glass dish, prick it with a fork, pour ¼ pt. Sherry slowly over, and let stand till the cake has soaked up all the wine. Pour 1 pt. custard over, taking care to coat the roll completely, then cut up one ounce of glace cherries in halves and decorate the pudding with them.
