Meat Loaf

From 1911:

Take about 30 cents worth of round steak, ground fine; 5 cents worth of sausage meat. 1 egg beaten, a small onion ground, two slices of bread, first soaked in water, then squeezed; pepper and salt to taste.
Mix all well together and put in a loaf pan and bake in a hot oven for about an hour. If gravy is desired put into a loaf and bake in a roast pan, basting frequently. This is also delicious sliced cold. This recipe is enough for four or five grown people.
