LEMON CREAM SODA

A very refreshing beverage.
Boil 3 pints of water and let cool, then add 2 oz. of tartaric acid, 1 teaspoonful of essence of lemon, 2 lb. of sugar, and the white of an egg; beat to a froth, then stir till dissolved. Put a little of the cream into a glass, add water, and stir in a little carbonate of soda.
