LEMON BISCUITS

From 1922:

One and a half cupfuls of sugar, 1 ½ cupfuls butter, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoonful essence of lemon, enough flour to roll out easily. Mix sugar and eggs well, add flour, 2 teaspoonfuls baking powder; roll out ¼ in. thick, cut into shape, brush over with milk, and bake.
