Hazel-Nut Torte

7 eggs, 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

From 1913:

7 eggs, 1 ½ cups powdered sugar. Beat 15 minutes. ½ pound hazel nuts, grated; 2 tablespoons brandy. 1 tablespoon orange juice, 1 teaspoon baking powder, ½ cup cracker crumbs. Bake in 2 layers.

Filling: 1 cup milk, 2 eggs, ½ cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cornstarch.
Cook until thick.
(Walnuts and almonds too, are good to use.)
