GINGER WINE

Take 2 drams essence of cayenne, 4 drams essence ginger, ¼ oz. tartaric acid, 3 drams essence of lemon, 2 drams burnt sugar. The above are obtainable at the chemist, all mixed together in a bottle. Put all in jug with 2 lb sugar, and add boiling water, 10 to 11 pints. When quite cold, bottle and cork. This is a delicious summer drink.
