GINGER BREAD PUDDING

Half a pound of breadcrumbs, 3 oz. of dripping, 1 teaspoonful of baking powder, 1 oz. of flour, ¼ lb. golden syrup, ½ oz. ground ginger, ½ pint skimmed milk. Mix the dripping and breadcrumbs and ginger, the flour, and baking powder together, add to the breadcrumbs, etc, then stir in golden syrup and enough milk to thoroughly moisten, mostly ½ pint. Put into a greased basin, cover with a pudding cloth, and boil from 1 ½ to 2 hours.
