From 1922:
One cupful flour, 1 teaspoonful baking powder, a pinch salt, milk to mix; any cooked, canned fruit, strawberries, etc. uncooked. Mix dry ingredients (not fruit) to a batter with the milk, having it rather thick. Put a tablespoonful of the batter into each of small buttered teacups, then some fruit as dry as possible, then another tablespoonful of batter. Steam for 20 minutes, covering the cups with buttered paper.
