Doughnuts That Are Always Fine

Roll out about a quarter of an inch thick

From 1911:

One and one-fourth cups of sugar,
one whole egg and two yolks,
one teaspoon of salt,
half (or less) teaspoon of nutmeg or ginger,
one cup of sweet milk,
three teaspoons (rounded) baking powder,
four and a half cups sifted flour.

Roll out about a quarter of an inch thick, cut out round and cut out a ring in the center. Fry in hot fat.
