Cheese Puffs

From 1922:

Half cupful cream, 2 oz. grated cheese, a small teaspoonful salt, a pinch of cayenne, ½ teaspoonful sugar, 1 teaspoonful butter. Put the cream, cheese, salt, sugar, cayenne and butter into an enamelled pan and set it over a kettle of boiling water till it is thick and smooth. Beat 2 eggs and add to the mixture. Line some greased pattypans with puff paste; fill them with the mixture and bake.
