Cheese Patties

Pour into deep patty tins, lined with

4 oz. grated cheese, 1 oz. flour, 1 oz. breadcrumbs, 1 oz.-grated onion, 1 egg, 1 cupful milk, 1 cupful water, pepper and salt. Mix the milk and water together, blend the flour (to which the pepper and salt have been added) with a little liquid. Put the remainder into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Pour over the blended flour, stirring well. Return to saucepan and boil 3 or 4 minutes, stirring all the time. Pour over the breadcrumbs, and when cooled a little add the well-beaten egg, cheese and the onion. Pour into deep patty tins, lined with thin pastry and bake in a hot oven about 15 minutes.
