This is the recipe:
Two eggs,
half a cup of butter,
one cup of milk,
half a cup of molasses,
half a cup of sugar,
three cups of flour,
one cup of raisins,
one cup of currants,
one teaspoon of soda,
one teaspoon of cinnamon,
half a teaspoon of cloves,
half a teaspoon of salt.
Steam three or four hours.
Serve with hard sauce made of 4X sugar and butter beaten to a cream.
