AFTERNOON TEA CAKES

From 1922:

Four ounces of cornflour, 4oz. flour, 4oz. butter, 4oz. castor sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoonful of baking powder. Cream the butter and sugar together, add the eggs one at a time, thoroughly well beating them in. Then add the sifted flour, together with the baking powder. Beat all well for 15 minutes, then bake in a brisk oven for 20 minutes in well-greased patty pans.
